Painted Silk

My painted Silk Meditations are spiritual expressions of universal gratitude. I use silk paint with “gutta” resist on stretched silk. Whether circular or square, each piece deals with various themes related to positive energies contained in human virtues.  Expressive lines, shapes, and colors define sensory qualities that draw on past experiences and memories linked with the present to reveal states of consciousness. These works become of visual affirmations that attempt to bring light to darkness, especially needed in our turbulent times.

Inspirations: Meditation, aboriginal art, mandalas, sand paintings, analog drawings, Gustav Klimnt, Henri Matisse, Paul Klee, Jackson Pollock, Lee Krasner, Helen Frankenthaler, Rothko, Bonnie Hollland, The Virtues Project.
